Our children are our entire world—but what happens when we don’t understand theirs?
Childhood is a magical and sacred time, full of wonder, exploration, and rapid change. As a therapist, my mission is to help children make sense of their feelings, process difficult experiences, and develop the skills they need to regulate their bodies and express their emotions and needs in healthy, effective ways. I also work closely with parents and caregivers to deepen their understanding of the beautiful complexities of child development and to embrace the powerful role they play in shaping who their children become.

I’m honored to work with families in the Lake Norman area and to offer a safe, warm, and welcoming space where clients can explore, navigate, and overcome life’s everyday challenges. I’m continually inspired by the natural resilience and growth of my clients and strive to create an environment that nurtures their inner strengths. My approach is strength-based and person-centered, encouraging clients to discover and utilize their own capabilities in an empowering, non-directive way.

As a Registered Play Therapist, I specialize in working with children through Play Therapy and am specifically trained to meet the emotional and developmental needs of children ages 2–10 using age-appropriate therapeutic techniques. My work with children integrates encouragement, emotional awareness, and self-esteem building, all within a supportive environment that promotes independence, growth, and healing. Along with Child-Centered Play Therapy, I employ experiential methods, such as art, music, nature, and other creative mediums. Working with children experientially can broaden the processing of their emotions and experiences in ways that go beyond traditional talk therapy, offering meaningful tools for emotional development and exploration.

I believe that a child’s wellness is deeply rooted in a strong and secure attachment with their primary caregivers. For this reason, I aim to integrate parents and caregivers into every session to strengthen communication and connection within the attachment relationship. I also work with caregivers separately to build skills, deepen developmental understanding, and enhance communication strategies that support the parent-child bond through challenges and stress. My ultimate goal is to empower caregivers to become the child’s primary source of strength, emotional processing, and support so that, over time, the need for a therapist may no longer be necessary.

I am formally trained in the following parent-child relationship therapy approaches:
