As a counselor, I believe that everyone has the right and ability to lead happy, healthy lives. I work with individuals from their pre-teen years to their early adulthood in a collaborative and open environment as they learn more about themselves and the world around them. I work with a wide range of presenting issues, such as, depression, anxiety, grief, and interpersonal relations.

I approach counseling from an integrative approach as I believe that each client is unique and counseling services should be tailored accordingly. However, I tend to lean towards approaching counseling from a Reality Therapy perspective. This means that I am focused on the present and how the actions or, sometimes inactions, influence the client’s world. I follow the WDEP model of Reality Therapy, helping clients determine what they want, determining if what they are doing to attain that goal is working, and creating a plan of action for how to attain their goals.

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor-Associate (LCMHC-A) in the state of North Carolina. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).  I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and a master’s of education in Counseling and Development with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Winthrop University.

I am honored to walk with you on your journey and look forward working with you.
