Deciding to work with a counselor takes courage; choosing a counselor takes energy.

I consider it a privilege to accompany clients on their journey to insight and healing. My work with clients, first and foremost, focuses on developing a relationship. Research indicates that the single most important component of therapy is the strength of the relationship between the therapist and the client. I build connection by creating a space that is safe and free of judgment, where the client’s authentic voice can be discovered and heard. I approach each client uniquely and in partnership, based on their needs, challenges, and strengths.

I work with couples and adults of all ages. My clients experience a range of struggles, including symptoms related to anxiety, stress, and depression; grief and loss; identity development and life transitions; sexual and interpersonal violence; and relationship difficulties. My work with clients is rooted in evidence-based practices, and it is informed by twenty years of experience in higher education.

A special note to people who are members of underrepresented groups: It is very important to me that you feel welcome and safe in my office. I strive to create an environment where you feel understood and respected.
